By 5.30pm this evening the team reached Dakhla and began the successful search for a reasonable, cheap hotel. This one has big rooms and sea views all for £9 each per night. Once settled in they will be heading for the excellent fish restaurant over looking the Atlantic. Hopefully it still serves cold beer because they will certainly want some after a very hot day on the road. They may leave Dakhla before dawn tomorrow as they have a long day ahead of them.

Dakhla is at the end of a long peninsular and the sunrise over the sea can be spectacular. After that its sand and camels.

Between the Moroccan and Mauritania border posts there is a no man's land which was once a mine field. Most of the mines have been exploded but care still needs to be taken. There are also areas of deep sand. After the Mauritanian border post they may have to go to Nouadhibou to obtain various documents. If they are lucky they may see what is claimed to be the longest goods train in the world which carries iron ore to Nouadhibou.
