Time to say thank you
We want to say a big thank you to all those who have made donations to the Friends of Govi (UK) and to the school this year.
The children at Middleham CofE primary school in North Yorkshire raised £262 for the charity at their harvest festival celebrations. They did this after hearing David Pointon and Pip Land talk about the school and its students. They were especially intrigued by the photographs of the way the Gambian children enjoy eating together.

Another wonderful fund raising effort was the non-uniform day at Ormesby village school in Norfolk after which £80.42 was given to the Friends of Govi.
This year Nicky Searle of the West of England College has forwarded over £4,000 worth of audio books for adults and children to the school. And Stephanie of the Joseph Clarke School in London has continues to send books and various useful items.
We also thank all those who have given donations to the Friends of Govi (UK) after receiving photographs from Pip either by email or on CD. These have been ordered after seeing the photographs published in a local newspaper.
The cost of the feeding programme during the last school year was mainly covered by the monies raised by Joan Feller at weekly car boot sales at Caister on Sea. We understand that the children are receiving meals every day this term.
