Auction Success

The Dales Celebration at Tennants Auction Rooms in Leyburn on Thursday, September 17, 2009 started with great gig of rock and roll and reggae music by Rick Dickerlous (aka Rod Baxter) and The Outrage with Lil and the Lillettes.

Rodney Tennant worked very hard to try and get good prices for all the auction bids. So not only did quite a few people go home with some good buys but we also raised at least £3,165 of which £917.77 came from the raffle and donations.

Our sincerest thanks to all those who supported us,  and/or donated raffle prizes and lots. The latter included: paintings and prints by Wensleydale artists; photographs also by local photographers; sequined evening tops, fishing outings, and B&B accommodation. Thanks to Rodney and Alison Tennant we were able to exhibit the artwork at the auction rooms from September 3 until September 17.

The raffle included meals at hostelries in Wensleydale; and tickets to the races, to the Georgian Theatre in Richmond, to Richmond cinema, for a family day with the Wensleydale Railway; and a bottle of champagne thanks to Campbells of Leyburn.

We are very grateful to Eric Shepherd and Frank Knowles who took the photographs shown in the video show below. A video of Rick Dickerlous and the Outrage in action has been posted on YouTube.
