People to Thank

The following people and organisations have contributed to this website:

Photographs have been supplied by Pip Land, David Pointon, Ken Nicholas and Phil Feller.

Sheridan Hudson.

On behalf of the Trustees of the Friends of GOVI, I would like to thank Sheridan Hudson for all her sterling work over the years as the provider, producer and editor of the Friends of GOVI website. This has been a major source of income and provider of information to persons interested in the school at the GOVI Resource centre. Sheridan has now stood down as a trustee and guardian of the site.

Many years ago I received a telephone call from Sheridan who asked why our charity did not have a website. I gave various reasons and she responded by saying "I will build and run one for you".

We visited Sheridan’s home in Somerset and spent hours sharing ideas and making decisions. The result, a few weeks later, was our own website. I wish Sheridan all the best for the future.

May I take the opportunity to thank our new web master Carol Haynes and editor Pip Land who have already spent hours putting together our New Look web site.

Phil Feller, Chairman/Trustee

Mat Connolley.

Mat has allowed us to use his photographs (some of which were used to create the heading to each page of the site).

He visited The Gambia with Heather Ritchie as part of a trip to support rug making. You can read more about that trip at the Rug-Aid website. Please take a look and offer support or a donation if you can.

Ray has kindly allowed us to use his video recording of the long drive across the UK, Spain, North and West Africa in December 2006 to deliver two minibuses from North Yorkshire in the UK to the school in the Gambia.
